How to follow up the interview

How to follow up the interview

5 minutes

To follow up effectively after your job interview, remember these steps:

1
Ask questions
Always ask the interviewer about the next steps and expected timeframes before you leave the interview.
2
Say thank you
Send a short thank you email with 24 hours of the interview. You may with to re-emphasise why you believe you are a strong fit or clarify any gaps but remember, this is not the interview. Keep it short and simple.
3
Follow up
If you haven't heard back within the expected timeframes, it is reasonable to check in via phone or email without sounding pushy.
